GIRLS LOVES SHOES is owned by sisters Zia and Dana Ziprin. They were raised in the Lower East Side when Ludlow and Orchard Streets were centers of apparel design before Soho. The two sisters grew up immersed in the education of Art, Fashion and Music. The Ziprin Sisters created their business in honor of their beloved Mother Joanne Ziprin.

Ms. Ziprin was a professional fashion model, accomplished Designer and Photographer. The girls remember dressing up in their mother’s extensive collection of Vintage clothing, shoes and accessories. Joanne Ziprin owned one of the first Vintage shops on the Lower East Side in the 60s....and enjoyed great success. Their father Lionel Ziprin is a lower east side resident, an esteemed kabalistic scholar, and renowned published poet and musician.
Zia began her career as a fashion photographer and lived and worked in Paris, and then began designing children’s wear when her daughter Aishling was born. She established her first boutique WOMB in 1994 which was located on West Broadway in Soho, the first avant garde children’s store in New
York. Zia was one of the first avatars of upscale designer apparel exclusively for children.
Zia carried European designer lines from Belgium and Paris, as well as her own children’s line which she designed and named Aishling. Her clients included Sofia Coppola, Ellen Barkin and Elle McPherson to name a few of the celebrities that frequented her establishment.
Everyone loved her children’s sophisticated designs so much that they asked for them in adult sizes, which inspired Zia to do a women’s line. Her first collection sold in Horn, beside Alexander McQueen at the store that MIGUEL ANDOVER opened. Her line at the time enjoyed exclusive residence in the avant garde designer store SEVEN and thereafter in many other innovative designer stores. Zia loves Shoes.
Zia ambitious to create a new specialized business collaborated with her sister Dana. GLS store in New York receives the majority of her shoes from her sister, who now resides in California. Together they opened
GIRLS LOVE SHOES and began selling and expanding the quickly growing VINTAGE SHOE ARCHIVE five years ago.
